Ellsworth Baseball Shuts Out Oceanside 2-0 to Advance to Semifinals [PHOTOS]

The #2 seeded Ellsworth Eagles took another step to defending their Class B State Title with a 2-0 shutout win over the Oceanside Mariners on Thursday, June 10th in Ellsworth. They'll play the winner of the Quarterfinal game between Caribou and Lawrence (game played Friday, June 11th) on Saturday, June 12th in Ellsworth.

Craig Burnett tossed a 6 hitter, striking out 8 and walking 2 for Ellsworth picking up the win.

Austin Chilles allowed 6 hits and walked 2 for Oceanside.

With 2 outs in the 4th inning, Michael Palmer hit a double. He went to 3rd on an error and scored on a passed ball to give Ellsworth their 1st run.

In the 5th inning Ellsworth added an insurance run when Brett Bragdon reached on a single. David Baugh was hit by a pitch, moving Bragdon to 2nd base. Bragdon then scored on a error.
