
Ellsworth Baseball Beats John Bapst 9-1
On Senior Recognition Day, the Ellsworth Baseball Team beat the John Bapst Crusaders 9-1 on Wednesday, May 22nd.
Ellsworth scored 2 runs in the 2nd, 3 runs in the 5th and 4 runs in the 6th innings.
Jackson Curtis pitched the complete game for the Eagles, allowing 4 hits. He struck out 11 and walked 3.
Conner Wagstaff had a triple and 2 singles. Matt Burnett and Hunter Curtis each had a double and a single. Jackson Curtis had 2 singles. Devin Grindle , Michael Palmer and Riley Grindle each had a single for Ellsworth.
Garrett Kirlin had 2 singles and Alec Gagnon and Ben Southwick each had a single for the Crusaders.
Ellsworth, now 11-1 has 4 games remaining. On Thursday, May 23rd the Eagles will travel to Hermon to take on the undefeated, 13-0 Hermon Hawks at 4:30 with 1st place on the line.
John Bapst, 5-8 will host MDI on Friday, May 24th at Husson University.
