Ellsworth American Paywall Starts January 1st

If you are a subscriber to The Ellsworth American, you will continue to receive unlimited access to The American's website. If you are not a subscriber, you will be allowed to read 3 articles free per month, before being prompted to subscribe to the website, which is $2.99 per month and will also include access to the e-edition of the paper.

The Ellsworth American is joining most papers in putting up a paywall on their online content. The Boston Globe, New York Times, and the Kennebec Journal, Portland Press Herald, Waterville Journal, as well as the Lewiston Sun Journal all limit the free access to their websites. The Bangor Daily News, is the only daily paper in Maine, to the best of my knowledge, that continues to offer free, unlimited access to their website at this time.
