Eden Street in Bar Harbor Closed

As part of the Bar Harbor Route 3 Construction Project Eden Street in Bar Harbor between West Street and Mount Desert Street is closed from Saturday, April 14th through April 22nd.

The closure is necessary as contractors will be working on the utilities. Accesses to residences and businesses will be maintained with passage for local traffic to Bowles and Michigan Streets and Eden Street.

Businesses down on the end of Cottage Street near Eden Street may be accessed, down Cottage Street. There are barricades on Cottage Street making it an effective dead end street temporarily.

Southbound traffic will be detoured onto West Street to Main Street and onto Route 3. Northbound traffic will continue on Main Street to West Street. Drivers should expect delays, and be prepared to stop and proceed slowly through the detour route. MaineDOT reminds everyone to please drive safely.
