A spokesman for the Easter Bunny today revealed that his boss is having a hard time keeping up with requests from Maine children, who are asking for chocolate lobsters in their Easter baskets.

“I think it started as a joke,” Rodney Abbott told this Modern Philosopher via Skype. “Some kids in Old Town mentioned chocolate lobsters on their Facebook pages. Other kids throughout the state saw those posts and started talking about it on their Facebook pages. Then they started Tweeting about it. Next thing we knew, it had gone viral and the Easter Bunny, who is usually very calm and collected, was hopping mad over all the requests.”

Unlike Santa Claus, who has an entire Village and live-in workers who help him make presents year round, the Easter Bunny operates a small time, seasonal business at an undisclosed location. Of course, in the age of social media, children all over the world are able to contact the Easter Bunny on a 24/7 basis.
