The MDI Trojans only managed 3 hits off of Conner Wagstaff and Bradly Smith and the Ellsworth Eagles picked up their 1st win of the season, as they beat the Trojans in Bar Harbor 10-0 on Tuesday afternoon, April 25th.

Ellsworth scored 1 run in the top of the 1st inning as Bradly Smith walked to start the game and scored on Sam Giffin's 2 out single.

In the 2nd inning Ellsworth plated another run when Devin Grindle doubled with 2 out. He would score on Smith's single.

Ellsworth scored their 3rd run in the 3rd inning. Jared Hamilton singled to start the inning and stole 2nd. He scored on a fielder's choice.

Ellsworth added another run in the 4th inning, to make it 4-0. Devin Grindle reached base on an error by the Trojan shortstop and scored on another fielder's choice.

Ellsworth added 4 runs in the 6th inning as they sent up 8 batters. MDI committed 3 errors in the inning and Ellsworth had just 1 hit by Jared Hamilton.

Ellsworth scored 2 more runs in the top of the 7th inning. The big hit was a 2 run double by Chris Fickett.

Matt Perconti took the loss for the Trojans, going 5.1 innings. Derek Collin pitched 1.2 innings in relief.

For Ellsworth Wagstaff pitched 6.2 innings with Bradly Smith getting the last out on strikeout.

MDI is now 1-1 on the season. The Trojans are scheduled to host John Bapst on Thursday at 4:30.

Ellsworth is 1-0 and plays in Old Town against the Coyotes on Saturday at noon.
