Cooling off is key! Remember that Knowlton Park's Splash Pad, in Ellsworth is open daily. The Splash Pad and changing rooms are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily when the air temp is over 65F and the bathrooms are open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily
The Town of Mount Desert's Swimming Pool is open for the season. It is staffed by the Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor. It is open Monday-Friday 4 to 6 p.m and on Saturday from 11 to 3 p.m.
Monday, July 7th
Bar Harbor
- 7-30-8:30 - The Bar Harbor Town Band will perform on the Village Green. In the event of inclement weather they will perform at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church next to the Village Green.
Ellsworth - 6 p.m. 195th Army National Guard to perform at 6 p.m. at Knowlton Park.
Tuesday, July 8th.
Bar Harbor
- 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. - Story and Play at the Jesup Memorial Library. Children ages 0-5 and their caregivers are welcome to join Abby for some stories, songs and then stay for playtime
Ellsworth
- 10:30 - 11:30 - Yoga for Kids - Ellsworth Public Library
- 1 p.m. - Riverside Family Scientists - Opening A Nature Journal. (Make a provided mini journal your own, Fun with ID Pages, Creative Writing.) - Ellsworth Public Library
Southwest Harbor
- 10 - 10:30 a.m. - Play-doh Playtime - Southwest Harbor Public Library. Children 2 and up are invited to squish, sculpt and squeeze all while developing hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and creativity. Play-do and tools will be provided
Wednesday July 9th
Bar Harbor
- 3:30 - 5 p.m. - Chronicles of Yarnia: Fiber Arts Group for Tweens and Teens at the Jesup Memorial Library - Enter the World Of Yarnia! Tweens and Teens in grades 4-12 are encouraged to bring a fiber arts project or start a new project.
Ellsworth
- 9:30 - 10:30 Harbor Park Storytime - Join Ms. Jean from the Ellsworth Public Library for an Outdoor Adventure Storytime. We will gather beneath the Pavilion overlooking the harbor where the Union River meets the Sea! Outdoor Adventure Storytime brings stories, songs, rhymes, and movement out into the natural world. Dress appropriately for the weather!
- 6 - 7 p.m. Magician Norman Ng on the Ellsworth Public Library's Lawn
- 7 - 7:40 p.m. - Ellsworth Concert Band will perform at Ellsworth's Harbor Park on the Waterfront. Bring a chair and bug spray!
Southwest Harbor
- 10 - 10:30 a.m. Baby Storytime at the Southwest Harbor Public Library. Designed especially for babies under 2. Join the Library for stories, songs rhymes, bubbles and more.
Thursday July 10th
Bar Harbor
- 7-30-8:30 - The Bar Harbor Town Band will perform on the Village Green. In the event of inclement weather they will perform at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church next to the Village Green.
Ellsworth
- 10:30-11:15 a.m. Storytime at the Ellsworth Public Library is for children aged 2 through 5 and their parents or caregivers featuring stories, songs, fingerplays, rhymes, and crafts.
- 6 - 7 p.m. - Jane Austen - Frump or Fashionista (Adults) Ellsworth Public Library - Dee Rieber of DeAnna Denise Couture designs, will explore Jane’s fashion “sense and sensibility” as evidenced through her personal letters and novels. The talk will be followed by a fashion show of Regency styles and tea party. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration required
Northeast Harbor
- 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Outside Storytime at the Northeast Harbor Public Library.
Friday July 11th
Bar Harbor
- 4 p.m. - St. Saviour's Folk Music Series, 41 Mt. Desert Street - Tim Seeley performs
Ellsworth
- 9 - 10 a.m. Baby Story and Play - Ellsworth Public Library. Newborns to 2 year-olds and their caregivers are invited to enjoy this brief storytime full of short books, lap bounces, rhymes, and songs. Adults have time to meet and greet while the children play after the program ends.
- 10:30-11:30 a.m. - Explore and Play - Ellsworth Public Library - This weekly program with Ms. Cheryl and Ms. Keli is perfect for kids aged 1 - 4. It offers an environment that encourages young kids to use their imagination and learn through exploring different material
- 2 - 3 p.m. Eco Heroes On A Mission - Ellsworth Public Library - Ready to turn trash into treasure? Learn how to level up your recycling game by transforming veggie scraps and flower cuttings into your very own mini garden! Get your hands dirty, have fun planting, and discover how everyday items—like egg cartons—can become powerful tools for growing something new. Bring an egg carton if you have one—and get ready to grow

- 10-10:30 a.m. Family Storytime at the Southwest Harbor Public Library - Join the Library for a fun-filled interactive storytime with books, puppets, movements, songs and more!
Saturday July 12
Bar Harbor
- 10 a.m. -1 p.m. - Bar Harbor Scrabble Club at the Jesup Memorial Library. All skill levels are welcome. Players are encouraged to bring their own boards.
- 10 a.m. -1 p.m. - Summer Reading Program: LEGO Day with Colby Adolphsen at the Jesup Memorial Library. This program is designed for children ages 5-11. For more about Colby click HERE
