All students on the team scored very well - only points away from all qualifying for states. Rex DeMuro came in first in the written portion of the competition, and second after the final countdown.  Lillian Swan came in 4th place in both parts, Carlina Leonardi came in 8th in the written and moved up to 5th in the countdown. Evan Ankrom came in 7th in the written and moved to 8th in the countdown.  All four students together brought the Conners Emerson team into first place.  Also qualifying for states is sixth grader Zoey Ray.  (Info from Sarah Winne)

The State level competition will be held Saturday March 9 in Fairfield. The top four teams and 20 students from each of Maine’s three districts will compete against each other for spots on the four-person team that represents Maine at Nationals in May.  The Conners Emerson School Math Team is coached by Bar Harbor resident Joel Graber and retired teacher Sarah Winne.

Also qualifying for the State competition is the team from Mount Desert Elementary School.
