Caribou Boys Beat MDI 67-55
The MDI Boys Basketball Team took a 3-0 lead in their game against Caribou, in Caribou on Friday, January 25th, but that would be the last lead that they would hold, as Caribou beat MDI 67-55.
Caribou jumped out to a 16-3 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, and led 36-15 at the end of the 1st Half. MDI started to claw their way back in the 3rd Quarter, 52-32 and cut the lead to 10 points in the 4th Quarter but were not able to get closer.
MDI was led by Derek Collin with 22 points, after being held scoreless in the 1st Quarter. Steven Pierce had 11 points and Drew Shea 10 points. MDI had 6 3's, 2 by Drew Shea and Steven Pierce and 1 each by Brett Duley and Derek Collin. MDI was 9-13 from the free throw line.
Caribou was led by Isaac Marker with 21 points. Alex Bouchard had 18 points and Sawyer Deprey had 11 points. The Vikings had 9 3-pointes, 4 by Bouchard, 3 by Marker and 1 each by Austin Findlen and Sawyer Deprey. Caribou was 8-9 from the free throw line.
MDI now 9-4 plays at Presque Isle on Saturday, January 26th at 2:30 in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
