Bucksport Freshman Is State Heavyweight Wrestling Champ [VIDEO]

Congratulations to David Gross, the first ever freshmen to win the Maine State Heavyweight Wrestling Championship! He won the All-State New England Heavyweight Division qualifier today.

Gross, the 285 pound champion pinned Zach Eastman of Marshwood in his first match and then in the second match beat Lincoln Andrews of Scarborough High School. In the finals, Gross pinned the Class A Champion, Zebulun Leavitt from Cheverus.

Gross will wrestle next weekend in Rhode Island in the New England Championships.
