The Boston Red Sox homered 4 times on Monday night, as they beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-3 to begin their 3-game series.

Canadian Tyler O'Neill homered twice. He hit a 2-out solo homer in the 1st inning. That was followed by another 2-out solo homer in the 3rd inning. That was his 14th of the season.

Meanwhile Canadian Nick Pivetta had a solid night on the mound, going 7.0 innings allowing 9 hits and 3 runs, striking out 4 and walking 1. Kenley Jansen picked up his 12th save of the year, retiring the final batter in the 9th inning.

Rafael Devers hit his 14th homer of the season, in the 1st inning.

Ceddanne Rafaela was 2-3 with his 8th homer, a solo shot in the 3rd inning.

David Hamilton was removed from the game with left side soreness and was replace by Enmanuel Valdex.

Romy Gonzalez was activated from the 15-day injured list prior to the game and Jamie Westbrook was optioned down to Triple A Worcester. Gonzalez finished the game 2-3 with a pair of singles, but was caught stealing twice.

The Red Sox and Blue Jays will play Game 2 of the 3-game series on Tuesday night. The pregame begins at 6:07 with the 1st pitch at 7:07 on AM 1370 WDEA.
