The game, Tuesday night, May 7th between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Tampa Bay Rays took a scary turn after pitcher J.A. Happ was struck in the head by a line drive.

The hit came off the bat of Rays outfielder Desmond Jennings' bat, as the scared fas at Tropicana Field looked on. The contest was halted for multiple minutes following the injury, as medical personnel quickly rushed to the field to help out Happ.

Happ was eventually strapped to a stability board — gauze bandaged to the left side of his head — and lifted onto a stretcher. He appeared to be talking to paramedics, with his eyes open, as he was rolled off the field, offering a faint wave to the crowd with his right hand. He was taken to a local hospital for testing, but there was no immediate update on his condition.
