Battered Ellsworth Girls Rein in Foxcroft Academy Ponies 51-44 [STATS]

The battered Ellsworth Girl's Basketball Team beat the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 51-44 on Monday night, December 16th at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth.

The Eagles were already without 3 starters, Sydney Mason (knee), Addison Atherton (hand) and Lily Bean (knee) when they lost Abby Radel with 16 seconds gone in the game, after she injured her right ankle after completing a layup.

The Ponies were deadly from beyond the 3-point arc, draining 10 3-pointers on the night, while Ellsworth answered with Kaylee Bagley's 4 3-pointers.

Ellsworth led 14-6 at the end of the 1st Quarter but Foxcroft Academy outscored Ellsworth 13-7 in the 2nd Quarter. The Eagles led 21-19 at the end of the 1st Half. Ellsworth led 36-27 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Kaylee Bagley with a game-high 20 points. Elizabeth Boles, after being held scoreless in the 1st Half, finished with 16 points. The Eagles were 14-22 from the free throw line.

Foxcroft Academy was led by Nola Mason with 15 points, including 3 3-pointes. Alli Cook had 12 points hitting 4 3-pointers. Madyson Kimball had 11 points with 3 3-pointers. The Ponies were 2-6 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth, now 3-0 is off until Friday, December 20th, when they will host Caribou at 6 p.m. and then Presque Isle on Saturday, December 21st at 1 p.m. Both those games will be live-streamed on the Ellsworth High School HUDL site. 

Foxcroft Academy is now 2-2. They will play at Hermon on Thursday, December 19th at 7 p.m.
