
Bar Harbor Town Council Rejects America Cruise Lines Arrivals for 2020 Season
At a special Town Council meeting on Tuesday, July 7th the Bar Harbor Town Council voted 6-1 to NOT allow America Cruise Lines to run smaller ships to Bar Harbor for the remainder of the 2020 Cruise Season.
America Cruise Lines had proposed running the Constitution and Independence in Maine beginning in July. Both ships would have run at 50% maximum occupancy to begin, 86 people and 48 people respectively, before being allowed to increase to 75% occupancy 129 people and 72 people.
Councilors Goldthwait, Hochman, Cough, Minutolo, Friedman and Dobbs voted to NOT allow the visitation of America Cruise Lines for the 2020 season while Councilor Coston voted to allow the arrival.
