The Town of Bar Harbor is requiring anyone working in or visiting any municipal building during the week of May 9-13 to wear a mask, due to the increase in the level of community transmission of COVID.

On March 15th, the Bar Harbor Town Council updated Town COVID precaution guidance with a motion that stated, “Should COVID-19 Community Level rise above the medium threshold, the Town Manager be given the authority to require mask wearing in municipal facilities.”

Given the current status of "High" risk for Hancock County, Town Manager Kevin Sutherland is requiring all staff and visitors to Bar Harbor public facilities to wear masks when indoors this week, May 9-13, and will re-evaluate on a weekly basis. "I hope we can continue to hold our public meetings in person but will advise otherwise if I learn more from our network of public health professionals," he said.
