Bar Harbor Nomination Papers Available March 1st

Interested in being on the Bar Harbor Town Council? Want to be on the Warrant Committee or the Superintending School Committee or be a MDI High School District Trustee? Nomination papers will be available at the Town Clerk's Office beginning Monday, March 1st.

To be on the ballot you must return your nomination paper by Friday, April 9th with signatures from 25 registered Bar Harbor voters.The election will be held at the Annual Town Meeting on Tuesday, June 8th.

There are 2 3-year seats available on the Bar Harbor Town Council with Gary Friedman's and Joe Minutolo's seats expiring. Both are able to run for re-election

There is 1 3-year seat available on the Superintending School Committee. That seat is currently held by Marie Yarborough and she is able to run for re-election.

There is 1 3-year seat available as MDI High School District Trustee. That seat is currently held by Rob Jordan and he is able to run for re-election.

Because of the charter change for the Warrant Committee, everyone must be elected. There are 5 seats available for 3-year terms, 5 seats available for 2-year terms and 5 seats available for a 1-year term. Interested candidates will have to pick which term they wish to run for, when taking out nomination papers. After this year, there will be 5 seats available every year, for 3-year terms.
