Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce Announces Annual Award Winners
The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce will hold their Annual Meeting on Monday, November 9th at 3:00 pm. This year’s meeting will be held online in keeping with COVID-19 safety protocols.
For the first time ever, the Business of the Year award will be presented to five co-winners: Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, Bar Harbor Savings & Loan, Camden National Bank, First National Bank, and Machias Savings Bank. The board’s members agreed that the local business community would have suffered significantly more financial pain without the support of our local banking institutions who were there to help through extremely challenging times.
The Chamber will honor Mount Desert Island Hospital with the Community Hero award, an award created this year in response to the hospital’s preparedness in response to the coronavirus pandemic
Outgoing board President Bethany Reece will bestow the President’s Award upon the Bar Harbor Hannaford in recognition of its determination in maintaining a safe shopping environment for all residents to purchase food and supplies during a fast-changing public health crisis
The final award of this year’s meeting will be the Cadillac Award, presented annually to a person who epitomizes the virtues of leadership, service, and sacrifice and the quest for personal excellence. This year’s award will be presented posthumously to Christopher Fogg, former Executive Director of the Bar Harbor Chamber, who died earlier this year. Accepting the award will be Chris’s wife, Erin, and their two young sons
