Bangor Fire Chief Resigns
Bangor Fire Chief Scott Lucas has submitted his resignation. City Manager Catherine Conlow said in a press release that his last day will be December 3rd, 2014.
Lucas has served in the position of Fire Chief since December 3rd, 2012. Selected from a field of 49 candidates, his qualifications included serving in the Westland, Michigan Fire Department for 21 years before retiring as Assistant Fire Chief/EMS Coordinator.
His resignation takes effect in December in order for Lucas to honor his two-year contract with the City of Bangor. Lucas said he also wants to give city officials time to find a replacement. In the press release, Lucas is quoted as saying that "he had enjoyed the opportunity to work with and for the Fire Department and the City of Bangor" and indicated that he appreciated the personal and professional development opportunities provided to him during his tenure.
