If you're like me, you travel on Route 1A between Ellsworth and Brewer too many times a week to count! And with the start of the high school sport's season my trips seem to get much more frequent! I admit I get a little immune to the beauty and the sites along the side of the road as I'm listening to the music, thinking about other things and trying to figure out what that person with the Massachusetts license plate is going to do next!

Imagine my surprise when I drove by Route 1A Relics the other day!

I zipped by (staying well under the speed limit!) and did a double take thinking, "I just think I saw skeletons from the side of the building!" Of course by the time I thought that, I was past the entrance, and there was too much traffic to consider stopping and doubling back.

But the next day, I made sure to stop! Sure enough...There are a bunch of bony fellows hanging from the 2nd floor!

How long have they been there? I can't tell you! But the next time you drive by, make sure to check them out! It's a good reminder to take a minute and look for the beauty in our everyday journeys, or at least for the skeletons!

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
