Are you planning on getting a flu shot this year? The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that anyone 6 months and older get a flu shot. It does take up to 2 weeks after your flu shot to build up immunity so the earlier you get it the better protected you will be before flu season arrives!

According to the Mayo Clinic, this year's flu shot is expected to provide protection to 3 of the 4 influenza viruses expected to be in circulation. Getting a flu shot will NOT give you the flu. The vaccine does not contain any live viruses. Even if the flu virus does not provide total protection, it can lessen the severity of the flu if you "catch it"

My wife being a school teacher had her flu shot on October 30th. I'm getting mine today, November 1st. Most health insurance plans will cover the cost of getting a vaccine. Are you getting one? Take the poll and leave a comment why you are or aren't
