All Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles Offices to be Closed Thursday September 26

If you were planning to head to your local Bureau of Motor Vehicles Office to renew your license, get a new license plate, register a vehicle, take a road or written test or get an identification card, on Thursday, September 26th DON'T! All offices statewide will be closed that day!

All staff will be in Augusta for a full day training. The Maine Department of Labor will conduct the bureau-wide staff training, which will review the bureau's Language Accessibility Policy and provide staff with an introduction to deaf culture.

The Maine Department of the Secretary of State is committed to serving all Maine residents and providing services to make the licensure processes accessible to all eligible applicants. This training event will serve as a refresher for all staff on Bureau of Motor Vehicles policies to provide fair and equitable access to licensure, in accordance with Maine and federal law
