#6 MDI Trojans Fall to #3 Lake Region Lakers 22-0 [PHOTOS]

The #6 MDI Trojans fell to the #3 Lake Region Lakers 22-0 in Naples, on Friday, November 1st in a 8-Man Large School Football Quarterfinal.

Both teams struggled offensively, with MDI only able to gain 58 yards rushing and 7 yards passing in the game. Lake Region gained 112 yards rushing and 104 yards passing.

There were a total of 24 penalties called during the game, with Lake Region being whistled 18 times and MDI 6 times.

MDI had a punt blocked and committed 2 fumbles. Lake Region fumbled twice and were picked off once.

The game was scoreless until 1:35 remaining in the 1st Half. Jaiden Meecham completed a 13 yard pass to Brayden Wilson for a touchdown. With the 2-point conversion, Lake Region led 8-0.

Meecham completed a 10 yard pass to Wilson for another touchdown with 2:36 remaining in the 3rd Quarter. The 2-point conversion was good and the Lakers led 16-0.

The final touchdown came with 9:09 left in the game, when Sean Murphy broke a 43 yard run for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion was no good.

MDI finishes the season with a 4-5 record. Lake Region, now 7-2 will play Greely, the #2 seed in the semifinal on Friday, November 8th.
