
55 Year Old Women Rescued in Acadia National Park on March 9th
According to the Amanda Pollock from the National Park Service, a 55 year-old women was rescued after a falling 25 feet on the Pemetic Northwest Trail in Acadia National Park on Sunday March 9th, after slipping on ice.
This was despite the fact that she was wearing traction devices on her shoes.
A group of 27 people from the National Park Service, Mount Desert Fire Department, Southwest Harbor Fire Department, the Land and Garden Preserve performed a technical rescue to evacuate the patient. Mount Desert Fire Department transported the patient to Mount Desert Island Hospital for treatment for head and leg injuries.
