Summer has flown by, and if all the Halloween candy in the stores hasn't given you a hint, the calendar is switching to fall and back to school.

Back to school time can be a fun time, but it can also cause anxiety for families as they need to get back to school supplies and those can add up, especially when families have multiple school-age children.

The group Community Matters is holding their 3rd Annual Fill the Bus event on Sunday, August 25th from 10 to 4 at the Ellsworth Walmart.  You are encourage to drop off any new school supplies so that they may be  spread out to the local schools in the greater Ellsworth area so that no child goes without the tools they need to succeed.

Some of the items most in need are

  • Backpacks
  • Reusable water bottles
  • Pencils
  • Crayons
  • Notebooks
  • Expo markers
  • Lunch boxes
  • Glue sticks
  • Colored pencils
  • Rulers
  • Single subject notebooks
  • Kleenex boxes

Together as a community once again, let’s fill that bus!!!
