As towns and cities start their budgeting process, the cry will be to reduce or hold the tax rate. I get it, I don't want my taxes to go up, and I have been there, being on the Bangor City Council for three years back in the early '90's. But we can't do it on the backs of our educators. They work hard, and more than 8AM to 3 PM, Monday - Friday, as some people assume. Those who advocate cutting classes, teacher's salaries, and slashing the education budgets should spend a day with a teacher!
