The Road to Portland

I love driving up from the Island and Ellsworth during February. During Tournament times the telephone poles are adorned with the basketball player's, swimmer's, cheering team member's, wrestler's and coach's names as they get ready to compete. Ellsworth soccer names were on the polls too when they went to the State Championship. Now for the first time, the MDI Football Team is being honored!

As you drive off the Island the familiar "Last One Off the Island Turn Out the Lights" is at the Head of the Island.

And there are Trojan Heads with the player's names on them too!

The MDI Trojans play the Wells Warriors Saturday, November 19th at 2:36 PM. You can hear the game on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio. The game is also being televised on WABI Channel 5.
