Southwest Harbor Police Department Parts Way with Officer Strout

Earlier this week the Southwest Harbor Police Department announced that they had hired Richard Stout as their newest police officer.

Mr. Strout had previously been a police officer with the Town of Machias. Given his past history, the Southwest Harbor Police Department was inundated with comments questioning the hiring decision.

On Friday, June 30th, Chief Hall posted on Facebook that Richard Strout was no longer affiliated with the Southwest Harbor Police Department.
