The purpose of this foundation is to pay the education costs of children of New York City and Port Authority Policemen and Firefighters who have lost their lives on duty. It also covered the costs of education for 700 children who lost a parent in the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center.
Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were shot and killed in by Ismaaiyl Brinsley in Brooklyn Saturday. Officer Ramos had a 13 year old child and another in college. Officer Liu was just recently married and had no children.
