Southwest Harbor resident Nahum Kelly's boat the FV "We're Here" was destroyed Tuesday night, March 24th. It caught on fire, and despite the best efforts of the United States Coast Guard, and the Southwest Harbor Fire Department and crews and trucks from neighboring towns, was not able to be salvaged. In talking with Traci Patton, the originator of the gofundme account and dispatcher with the Southwest Harbor Police Department, Kelly had no insurance, and most of his power tools as well as the scallop catch of the day were destroyed in the fire.

Scalloping and fishing is the primary source of income for Kelly's family. The purpose of the gofundme account is to try and obtain a new or used boat so he can resume fishing and scalloping.
