Missing Equipment From MDI Marathon

This is pretty sad. The last 2 years someone has stolen a Citgo sign from race organizer Gary Allen, similar to the Citgo sign from Fenway and the Boston Marathon. But this year, someone, or some people have stolen 11 aluminum barricades that had a royal blue covering on, and were used as a chute for the timing of the race.

The barricades were stolen sometime overnight on Saturday, October 13th between 4:30PM and race morning on Sunday, October 14th. Obviously, a truck or trucks were involved, as you don't just walk off with 11 of these aluminum barricades.

The fact that someone took these items is disheartening, but further adding to the heartache is that the MDI Marathon has raised over $300,000 for many charitable organizations while extending and fueling the Island's economy into late fall.
