Middlebrooks and Victorino to Sox Disabled List

The Red Sox made numerous roster moves this afternoon, Friday May 24th.

Will Middlebrooks was placed on the 15 day disabled list because of back spasms and recalled Jose Iglesias. Iglesias is in tonight's starting line-up playing 3rd base. Middlebrooks left last night's game.

Outfielder Shane Victorino was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a left hamstring strain. The move is retroactive to Tuesday, May 21st. Victorino has missed the last three games. Pitcher Alfredo Aceves was recalled from Pawtucket to fill Victorino's spot on the major league roster.

Catcher David Ross was activated from the 7 day concussion disabled list, and Ryan Lavernway was optioned back to Pawtucket.
