MDIHS One Act Wins Regional

Congratulations to the MDI High School One Act Drama Team who finished first in the Eastern Maine Regionals on  Friday and Saturday in the competition held at MDI High School. Competing in this regional were Shead, George Stevens Academy, MDI, Bucksport, Searsport, Sumner, Deer Isle-Stonington and Washington Academy. This is the third year in a row and the fifth year out of six MDI Drama has won the regional competition and advanced to the State Finals.

Judge John Blanchette commented on MDI's performance

"Many one acts strive to be over the top, silly, weird, or just plain frustrating -- you took the high road and reminded everyone that a simple boy meets girl story can be among the most affecting pieces of all to present!"

MDI and Deer Isle Stonington advance to Millinocket for the Class B State Championship the weekend of March 20-21. MDI performed Horton Foote's "The Dancers"
