The MDI Trojans beat the Narraguagus Knights 5-1 in an exhibition game in Bar Harbor on Tuesday, April 9th.

Taylor Grant started in the circle for the Trojans and went 4.0 innings, shutting out Narraguagus and just allowing 2 hits. She struck out 11 and walked 2. Allibeth Horner came on in relief, pitching the final 3 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 run. She struck out 2 and didn't walk a batter.

Taylor Grant had a triple, driving in a run. Allibeth Horner had a pair of singles. Grace Horner, Hannah Lawson and Lexi Tozier all singled.

The Trojans swiped 4 bases with Marissa Richardson stealing 2 bases, and Allibeth Horner and Taylor Grant each stealing a base.

Autumn Peterson went 3.0 innings for Narraguagus, allowing 5 hits and 4 runs. She struck out 5 and walked 2. Natalie Stanwood pitched the final 3 innings, allowing 1 run, walking 5 and striking out 6.

Trinity Morris had a double and triple for the Knights, driving in a run.

MDI opens the season with a doubleheader against Presque Isle on Saturday, April 20th with games at 12 noon and 2 p.m.

Narraguagus opens the season on Wednesday, April 17th against Woodland.

The High School Player of the Week resumes on Monday, April 15th. Nominees for the week April 15-20th should be emailed to chris.popper@townsquaremedia.com by Sunday night, April 21st. Voting will take place Monday April 22nd - Thursday April 25th with the winner being announced on April 26th.
