The MDI Boy's Basketball Team defeated Houlton 57-47 in Bar Harbor at Bernard Parady Gymnasium on Friday, December 18th to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Houlton jumped out to a 13-10 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Jacob Brown had 5 points including a 3-pointer and Jared Fox had 4 points for the Shiretowners. MDI's Graham Good had 4 points and Aaron Snurkowski and Riley Swanson each had a 3-pointer.

In the 2nd Quarter, MDI outscored Houlton 16-4 to take a 26-17 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Russell Kropff had 7 points, Good had 4 points, Snurkowski had 3 points and Colby Lee had 2 points. Nick Brewer and Cameron Cleary scored 2 points each for Houlton.

In the 3rd Quarter, Houlton outscored MDI 15-12, to cut MDI's lead to 6 points at the end of the 3rd Quarter 38-32. Fox had 7 points and Brown had 5 points including a 3-pointer for Houlton, while Jacob Worthley added the other 3 points for the Shiretowners. MDI's Good had 4 points, while the Trojans received 2 points each from Andrew Phelps, Lee, Kropff and Swanson.

In the 4th Quarter, Houlton cut the lead to 3 points, and had a chance to tie the score, before the Trojans pulled away. Swanson had 7 points including a 3-pointer, Kropff had 5 points including a 3-pointer, while Phleps had 5 points including a 3-pointer.  Houlton received 7 points from Cameron Graham including a 3-pointer, and Garrett Ring had 6 points.

MDI was led by Russell Kropff with 14 points while Graham Good and Riley Swanson each had 12 points. The Trojans were a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line.

Houlton was led by Jared Fox with 11 points while Jacob Brown had 10 points and Cameron Graham had 9 points. Houlton was 10-17 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 4-1, and off until December 29th when they travel to Aroostook County to play Presque Isle on Tuesday December 29th at 6:30 PM and Caribou on Wednesday December 30th at 2:30 PM. Both those games will be on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Houlton is now 0-4 and plays host to Calais on Monday, December 21st at 7 PM.
