The MDI Boy's  Basketball Team defeated Foxcroft Academy 78-71 on Friday, January 29th in Bar Harbor to improve to 13-3 on the season.

The Trojans jumped out to a 19-10 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Andrew Phelps had 3 3-'s for 9 points, Russell Kropff had 3 points, Graham Good, Colby Lee, Isaiah Keene all had 2 points and Drew Rich had 1 point for the Trojans. Hunter Smith had 4 points for Foxcroft Academy, while Drew Dankert and Noah Allen each had a 3-pointer for 3 points.

MDI outscored Foxcroft Academy 16-14 in the 2nd Quarter, to take a 35-24 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Aaron Snurkowski had 5 points including a 3-pointer, Riley Swanson had 4 points while Devin Parlatore, Rich and Gus Reeves all had 2 points for the Trojans and Good had 1 point. For the Ponies, Hunter Smith had 9 points, Allen and Dylan Harmon-Weeks each had 2 points and Joshua Reed had 1 point.

In the 3rd Quarter, Foxcroft Academy outscored MDI 26-18 to cut MDI's lead to 3, 53-50. Riley Wodard had 8 points including 2 3-pointers, Hyatt Smith had 7 points including a 3-pointer, Hunter Smith had 4 points, Noah Allen had a 3-pointer and Jeremy Richards had 2 points for the Ponies. For MDI Kropff had 8 points, Snurkowski had 5 points including a 3-pointer and Swanson had 5 points including a 3-pointer.

In the 4th Quarter, MDI outscored Foxcroft Academy 25-21. Andrew Phelps had 7 points including a 3-pointer, Graham Good had 7 points, Riley Swanson had 6 points including a 3-pointer, while Russell Kropff had 4 points and Gus Reeves added a point. For the Ponies, Hunter Smith had 9 points with a 3-pointer, Hyatt Smith had 4 points, Noah Allen and Drew Dankert each had 3-pointers and Jeremy Richard had 2 points.

MDI was led by Andrew Phelps with 16 points, while Riley Swanson and Russell Kropff each had 15 points and Graham Good had 10 points. The Trojans were 12-24 from the free throw line. All Trojans who checked into the game, scored.

Foxcroft Academy was led by Hunter Smith with a game high 26 points. Noah Allen and Hyatt Smith each had 11 points. The Ponies were 4-7 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 13-3 on the season and have 2 games remaining. They play at Central High School on Tuesday, February 2nd at 7 PM and then at home on Thursday, February 4th against Ellsworth on Senior Night. Both those games will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

The Foxcroft Ponies are now 4-12 on the season. They play host to Hermon on Tuesday, February 2nd at 7 PM and close the season on Thursday, February 4th at 7 PM against Central High School.
