Sunshine and a temperature in the mid-30's...perfect weather for college baseball. The Husson Eagles beat Bates College 9-7 in the earliest home opener in school history.

Coach Jason Harvey and the Eagles got behind the Bobcats 4-1 through four innings. But, Husson rallied for eight runs over the next four innings to take the lead for good.

Ryan Rebar had a three hit day with a RBI.

Mike Wong, JT Whitten, Christian Corneil and Zach Sugar all had two hit days.

Former MDI Trojan Ben Walls(1-1) got the win out of the bullpen pitching 1.1 inning. He allowed 1 unearned run on 2 hits and struck out 1. Former Trojan Steven Hanscom pitched a scoreless 8th inning, striking out 1 and didn't allow a hit or walk!

John Dinucci led Bates with three hits.

Husson improves to 3-5 while Bates is now 5-7. The Husson Eagles play a doubleheader at home next Saturday, March 26th against Norwich.
