...HIGH FIRE DANGER LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY EVENING FOR
DOWNEAST MAINE...

THE STATE OF MAINE FOREST SERVICE HAS ISSUED A HIGH FIRE DANGER
RATING DUE TO VERY LOW LATE DAY RELATIVE HUMIDITIES ALONG WITH
DRYNESS OF DEAD GRASSES AND OTHER FINE FUELS. THESE FACTORS COMBINED WITH AN AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING SEA BREEZE COULD RESULT IN THE LOSS OF CONTROL OF ANY PLANNED BURNS TODAY. YOU SHOULD CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT OR FORESTRY OFFICE BEFORE DOING ANY BURNING. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT A BURN PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR ALL BURNING. SIMILAR CONDITIONS ARE ALSO EXPECTED TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.
