The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team beat John Bapst 83-35 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on Tuesday, January 9th.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 20-6 at the end of the 1st Quarter and led 45-16 at the end of the 1st Half. The Eagles led 72-23 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Grace Jaffray with 21 points. Abby Radel finished with 17 points. Elizabeth Boles had 14 points while Elise Sargent had 10 points. The Eagles sank 8 3-pointers on the night. Radel and Sargent had 3 3-pointers each, while Boles and Sydney Mason each drained 1 3-pointer. Ellsworth was 3-5 from the free throw line.

Stella Goetz was the leading scorer for John Bapst, finishing with 14 points. Claire Gaetani had 8 points. John Bapst sank 3 3-pointers, with Goetz draining 2 3's and Jayden Schoppee the other. The Crusaders were 10-12 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 9-0. They will travel north to play at Houlton on Friday, January 12. The game tips off at 6 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our Free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device with the pregame starting at 5:40 p.m.

John Bapst is 1-10. They will host Washington Academy on Saturday, January 13th at 8 p.m.
