Ellsworth's Josh Bean had an assist and the game winning goal, as Husson University defeated Thomas College 3-2 in men's soccer on Tuesday night, October 7th at Husson University! It was Thomas' first North Atlantic Conference loss this season.

After Thomas took a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Tre Ming in the fifth minute and Dakota Duplissie in the 49th minute, Josh Bean (Ellsworth, ME) set up for a throw-in for the Eagles in Thomas territory. The ball went into a crowd and Martin Lidholm (Stockholm, Sweden) was able to deflect it into the net with his body to cut the lead in half in the 58th minute.

With just under 10 minutes left, the Eagles earned a free kick 25 yards out. Andy Stevick (Rockport, ME) hit a rocket that was still rising as it went by the keeper to knot the game in the 81st minute.

The Eagles would get the game-winner minutes later when a rebound came to Bean who fired a curving ball into the left corner as the teams were clearing out of the box from just beyond the penalty area.

Husson was able to limit Thomas' chances in the waning moments to seal the win.

"This was a great college soccer game," said Husson head coach Jeff Gettler. "We showed great character to get three goals in the second half and fight back and win."
