Coach Arnold has been an Assistant Coach under Coach Mark Shields for the last 9 years. He graduated from the University of Michigan where he played 2 years for football and 2 years on the Track and Field Team. He also worked in the Michigan Athletic Department for 2 years working with the football team and in Athletic Development.

Prior to coming to Maine, he was the Head Football Coach at Marecellus and Brethren High Schools in the State of Michigan.

Athletic Director Bunky Dow stated that "I am very pleased to have Mark Arnold as the next person to lead the MDI Football Team. He brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to the MDI Football Program and we are very fortunate to find a person of his caliber to step in and take over the Program. I look forward to working with him."

Coach Arnold said " I'm looking forward to the challenges of continuing to build on the MDI Trojan Football tradition. I'm fortunate to be building upon the foundations that Coach Shields has shaped and I am proud to have been a part of that work over the past 9 seasons. We have outstanding student-athletes and I am surrounded by exceptional educators and coaches in this District. Our program will remain focused on offering uncommon opportunities for our players to strive toward excellence on and off the playing field".
