Save the date, Sunday December 11th as the Wreaths Across America caravan will be rolling into Ellsworth at approximately 9:15 AM.

There will be a reception and ceremony at the Maine Coast Mall in Ellsworth from 9:15 AM to their expected departure at 10:30 AM. The caravan's final destination is Arlington National Cemetery.

Wreaths Across America has a threefold mission - Remember our Fallen Veterans, Honor Those Who Serve and Teach Your Children the Value of Freedom

I love Karen Worcester's, the Executive Director of Wreaths Across America, quote "We are not here to decorate graves. We're here not to remember their deaths but their lives."

Every volunteer who places a wreath upon a grave is encouraged to say that veteran's name aloud and take a moment to thank them for their service to our country. It's a small act that goes a long way toward keeping the memory of our veterans alive.
