Justin was class vice-president his senior year and he worked with Paul Storey to redesign the Student Council website and drafted a proposal to amend the StuCo Bylaws and Constitution.  Justin was the president of JMP and Treasurer of SkillsUSA, where he participated in the Job Interview portion for St. Croix Regional Technical Center.  As a member of both, National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society, he participated in many community service activities.  Mr. Carney went to Upward Bound, where he took part in the National Student Leadership Congress and was able to meet Senate member Susan Collins. He started an Anime Community where students watched shows and analyzed them. Justin also was a member of the National History Academy. There, the students use the Harvard case method to put all of the students on equal footing in regard to the knowledge of the different historical cases. He analyzed the Federal Negative, the Battle over the Banks, and the Federal Meat Inspection of the Gilded Age to learn more about United States history and the development of our government.

Justin Carney was instrumental in the first WJHS Career Fair for our students to attend.   As part of an internship with the guidance office, he communicated with the different businesses in the area in order to pair some of them with the St. Croix Regional Technical Center students. Other businesses/organizations were added to show students some of the other opportunities in the area.  Justin currently is working on getting his certification to be a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician at Washington County Community College.
