Winter Storm Watch Christmas Day
We won't have to worry whether or not we are going to have a White Christmas this year as there is a Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Sunday night (Christmas Eve) through Monday evening (Christmas) for much of Maine.
In 2014 and 2015 high temperatures in Bangor on Christmas Day were 54 degrees. This year highs are expected to only be in the upper 20's for Ellsworth and Bar Harbor on Christmas Day.
The current forecast calls for snow accumulation of 6 to 9 inches on Christmas Day for Coastal/Interior Hancock and Washington Counties.
The Greater Bangor area is expecting 7 to 10 inches of snow on Christmas Day.
The snowiest Christmas in Bangor was in 1938 when 9.2 inches of snow was observed.
