West End Drug Store in Bar Harbor to Close After 100 Years
For as long as anyone can remember, the Gilfillan family has been the owner of the West End Drug Store in Bar Harbor. But, after 100 years, the West End Drug Store will be closing, as Mike and Stacey, the current owners will be retiring.
According to a story in the Bangor Daily News, customers who have had their prescription filled at West End Drug Company will be able to have their prescriptions filled at the Bar Harbor Hannaford Pharmacy, beginning on September 30th. Carroll Drug in Southwest Harbor and Rite Aid in Bar Harbor are also two pharmacies serving the Bar Harbor community.
The store will remain open while the current inventory of non prescription items is being depleted.
