Weirs Win Chris Angell Cup at Ellsworth Tennis Center
Congratulations to MDI High School's Lelia and Jameson Weir who won the Chris Angell Cup at the Ellsworth Tennis Center on Saturday, March 12th. Lelia won for the Under 18 Girl's Division while Jameson won for the Under 16 Boy's Division

The Angell Cup returned after a 2-year pandemic forced hiatus. Chris Angell was Maine's top tennis player for several years running while suffering from Paranoid Schizophrenia. The Tournament and Angell Open in Portland, May 6th-8th is held to support and bring awareness to the need for mental health treatment.
The Angell Cup is a great warmup for high school players preparing to start the Spring Tennis Season.
