Truck Day 2019 – Red Sox Equipment Truck Departs for Florida
A little over 14 hours after the New England Patriots won their 6th Super Bowl, the Boston Red Sox's equipment truck carrying everything they'll need for Spring Training departs from Van Ness Street in Boston to Fort Myers!
The truck, is scheduled to leave at 12 Noon and will be driven for the 21st straight year by Al Hartz. And in case you were wondering, there are 1,480 miles between Fenway Park and JetBlue Park!
On the truck are
- 20,400 baseballs
- 1,100 bats
- 200 batting gloves
- 200 batting helmets
- 320 Batting Practice tops
- 160 white game jerseys
- 300 pairs of pants
- 400 t-shirts
- 400 pairs of socks
- 20 cases of bubble gum
- 60 cases of sunflower seeds
WDEA will be broadcasting 31 preseason games and the 162 regular season games. Our first spring training game is Saturday, February 23rd against the New York Yankees.
Pitchers and catchers report on Wednesday, February 13th, with the rest of the team reporting on Monday, February 18th
