After beating the Caribou Vikings earlier Friday afternoon, April 26th, 7-0, the 2 teams played game 2, and in a slugfest, MDI prevailed 15-10 to complete the sweep up in Aroostook County.

Both teams banged out 16 hits, and MDI jumped out to a 10-4 lead after 2 innings, and after Caribou had drawn within 1 run 10-9 at the end of 3 innings, MDI scored 3 in the top of the 5th inning and 2 in the top of the 6th inning to preserve the win.

MDI was led by Lindsey McEachern, and Emily York who each had 3 hits. York had a double. Mackenzie Dyer, Lily Cook and Ruby Brown each had 2 hits. Leah Carroll, Olivia Gray, Emily Carter and Bailey Goodell each had a single. McEachern had 2 more stolen bases.

Emily York started the game for MDI pitching 4 innings allowing 9 runs for the win, on 13 hits. 4 of the runs were earned as MDI committed 5 errors. She struck out 2 and walked 1. Lindsey McEachern came on for the save, throwing 3 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 unearned run while striking out 2.

For Caribou, Renee Stubbs was 4-5 with a triple. Hollie McDougal was also 4-5 with a double. Taylor Devoe was 3-4 with a double. Taylor LaBreck was 2-4 with a triple and Alexis Parker had 2 hits. Lura Page had a single.

Jessica Soucy started the game for Caribou, going 3 innings, allowing 5 hits and 3 runs, striking out 4 and walked 2. Brooke Moir pitched the remainder of the game allowing 9 runs on 9 hits, walking 6 and striking out 1.

MDI evened their record at 2-2 and will play Hermon in Bar Harbor on Tuesday, April 30 at 4:30.

Caribou 1-2, will play a doubleheader in Bangor against John Bapst on Saturday, May 4th
