There were High Surf Advisories in effect for Coastal Maine on Wednesday, September 20th, and they continue through 8 PM on Thursday, September 21st. Surf height is expected to be 6 to 10 feet and high tide today, Thursday, September 21st in Bar Harbor is at 12:13 PM.

There are warning signs throughout Acadia National Park and the Schoodic Peninsula advising of the High Surf, but as you can see from Cyndi Johnstone's pictures, that didn't stop people from climbing over the gates to get to the rocks at Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park.
