Thompson Island Picnic Area Is Open

Did you notice that the gate shutting the Thompson Island Picnic Area has been removed during the day, and the Picnic Area is finally open!

As I drove down to Mount Desert Island on Tuesday, September 15th I saw that the gate was open! I had to drive in, and there were quite a few cars there, and people enjoying the day and the picnic area, including a few seagulls!

The bathrooms are closed, but Acadia National Park has brought in 2 large porta-potties for the public's use
