I  have said it the first of each month since about 1980. That's 31 years, 372 months. That's a heck of a lot of "Happy Rabbit Rabbit Days!"

I thought it was a Maine thing, as I learned it from someone I went to Middlebury College who was from Maine, but subsequently found out it was an English superstition.Wikepedia says "Rabbit rabbit rabbit" is one variant of a common British superstition which states that a person should say or repeat the word "rabbit" or "rabbits", or say the phrase "white rabbits", or some combination of these elements, out loud upon waking on the first day of the month, because doing so will ensure good luck for the duration of that month"

So remember October 1st is tomorrow. Be sure to say "Happy Rabbit Rabbit Day" After all, we all need some good luck!
